How to Bullet Journal on a Budget

November 22, 2022 2 min lesen.

The Bullet Journal system is a great way to keep track of everything in your life, but it can be costly if you're not careful. You don't need to go out and buy every single fancy pen or notebook out there — just stick with what works best for you. Here are some tips that will help make your bullet journal experience as budget-friendly (and fun!) as possible:

Figure out what you need

The first step of figuring out how much you can spend is deciding what exactly you need in order to get started. Do you need a notebook? Pens? A stencil? A ruler? A highlighter?

When starting a bullet journal, you don't need to go out and purchase a whole bunch of supplies. In fact, if you're just getting into the craft, it can be helpful to start with an inexpensive notebook that you might already have lying around. A regular pen or a fountain pen will work just fine; paper is also very flexible when it comes to bullet journals—there are lots of choices available at most office supply stores.

Find free resources online

There are tons of free resources online that will help point you in the right direction when it comes to creating your own bullet journal set-up without breaking the bank!

You can search for "free printable bullet journal kit" or another phrase that's relevant to your needs. Then print the pages and stick them into your journal. You can also check out our blog posts for some printable bullet journal kit at no additional cost!

Use old book or magazine pages

Take any old books or magazines that have been sitting around your home and cut out any pages that interest you. If you want, you can even decorate them with paint or markers. This can be a great way to get creative while saving money!

Think about what kind of tools are right for you.

Some people like using gel pens because they're more precise than regular ballpoint pens, while other people prefer using fountain pens because they offer more variation in line widths and colours than gel pens do. Decide what kind of tool feels most comfortable for you before making any purchases!

Use supplies that you already have.

A lot of people think that in order to start bullet journaling, they need all new supplies—but this isn't true! You might already have all of the tools you need to get started in your house or apartment: pens, pencils, highlighters, markers, crayons... The list goes on! If you don't have any of these items, then try looking around at dollar stores or garage sales for bargains.

Have fun with it!

Don't feel like you have to stick to one method—the world of bullet journaling is full of endless possibilities, so don't be afraid to mix things up when inspiration hits!
