How to Start a Gratitude Log on your Bullet Journal

October 05, 2022 2 min read

The holidays are fast approaching and some of you are probably feeling that holiday hustle and bustle already.

But before you go rushing off to the grocery store and stuffing your face with turkey, take a second to up your gratitude game.

What is a gratitude log?

A gratitude log is simply a list of things that you're grateful for. You can write them down or draw pictures—it's totally up to you. It can be anything from the fact that you have food on the table, to the fact that your parents are so supportive of your interests and dreams.

The point isn't just about creating a list of things; it's about creating space for self-reflection and slowing down enough to notice all the good things in our lives. It's also an opportunity to connect with others by expressing appreciation for them and their contributions.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by all the stressors in life right now, or if it feels like there aren't many opportunities at this time of year, setting aside time every day to focus on what is going well can help reframe how we see ourselves and our role in society—and even serve as a reminder when things get tough again!

How do I start a gratitude log?

Start by making sure that all of your supplies are ready. You will need a pencil, pen, markers, highlighters and maybe some stickers or other decorations to help you make your page look pretty.

Here are two of our favourite gratitude log set up ideas to help you get started!

Monthly View Daily Gratitude Log

This is a pretty simple approach, but it can be really effective. Just take one or two pages each month and create a daily log where you write down everything that you're grateful for on that day. Not only will this help you remember what went well each day at a glance, but it will also give you an easy way to look back on how different things have been going for you over time.

If you're looking for more detail than that, there's always the weekly view daily gratitude log below!

If you're looking for something a little more involved, or if you'd like a more thorough look at what made your week great, this is the type of gratitude log for you! If your goal is more detailed, try filling in one page per week and writing down three or more things that made you grateful for each day.

Whether you are new to bullet journaling or an old pro, spending time every day reflecting on the things that matter most to you is a great way to keep your mind focused and your heart happy.
